Join our team now atSiemens Healthineers as a Senior Staff Data Scientist.  The ideal candidate is a machine learning generalistcovering entire spectrum of the applied ML/AI workflow including objectdetection, image analysis, big data handling, MLOps, advanced ML concepts andframeworks (including unstructured data and multimodal ML), distributed deeplearning training, and ML explainability. The focus of this position is onimage analysis, object detection, segmentation, and classification to solverobotic problems. Our preferred platforms are Databricks and NVIDIA Omniverse.

This is a role well suitedto an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a SeniorStaff Data Scientist, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing, training, andtesting models for object detection, classification, and segmentation to solverobotic problems
  • Developing AI models and classicalcomputer vision workflows on images of different quality including noisy and low-qualityimages
  • Independently and rapidly developand test functioning prototypes for feasibility demonstration in a healthcare environment,validate and communicate results to answer business-relevant questions.
  • Developing reusableanalytic models, configure and deploy algorithms, select optimal tools anddefine visualization methods/tools to present results.
  • Contributing to developingorganizational best practices in machine learning and data engineering.

 

Required skills to have forthe success of this role:

  • University degree inmathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, electrical engineering, orengineering sciences.
  • Strong technical expertisein technologies, algorithms, and methodologies in the areas of object detectionand image analysis, deep neural networks architectures for object detection,time-series analysis, feature engineering, dimensionality reduction, etc.
  • Substantial expertise intraditional computer vision and image analysis, for instance, utilizing OpenCV
  • Understanding of visionsystems and their distortions and noise factors
  • Proficient programming abilitiesin Python and C++, with hand-on experience with code completion assistants
  • Extensive knowledge ofusing and extending analytical tools and platforms such as Databricks, Spark,and analogous data analytics environments.
  • Experience with NVIDIAOmniverse environment is preferred but not required
  • Expertise in robotic applicationsand ROS is preferable
  • Expertise in big dataanalytics and analytics with structured and unstructured data.
  • Ability to apply analyticalrigor and statistical methods to optimize our products
  • High level of expertise inapplied ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, etc.
  • Understanding of conceptsin medical statistics
  • Comfortable with creationand analysis of complex models to support effective decision making
  • Understanding of ML modelexplainability and ML risk assessment concepts
  • Broad understanding of MLlife cycle management/MLOps.
  • Practical skills indistributed GPU ML training and inference.
  • Strong presentation andcommunication skills to present technical and business-relevant insights atdifferent levels of the organization.
  • Medical applications experienceis preferred but not required.
  • Experience in Azure bigdata technologies is beneficial.

The pay range for thisposition is $167,000-$230,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending onjob-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The annual incentive target is(15%) of base pay. Siemens Healthineers offers a variety of health and wellnessbenefits including paid time off and holiday pay.
