Project Engineering is an integral project function that starts from the tender phase and continues through to project completion. The role is crucial in defining and managing the technical scope of works through to the client, in accordance with industry and Siemens engineering standards and processes. They shall ensure the identification and safe management of technical risks associated with the technical requirements, ultimately governing technical safety and compliance.
This position will be based in Wellington and will seek to support the project delivery led by Siemens in the local office. You will be working closely with KiwiRail to ensure the success of the project, whilst support KiwiRail and Siemens in the development of future works.

In this role you form part of the project senior leadership team and shall work closely with the Project Manager and Commercial Project Manager (CPM) to ensure that the project delivery and technical delivery goals are aligned.
You will:
- Provide point of escalation for Engineering project delivery issues
- Manage change.
- Dissemination of Rail standards and Siemens governance in project.
- Provide management and guidance of local client and industry standards
- Ensure the business code of conduct is being adhered to.
- Manage client interfaces and escalatory actions as required.
- Maintain a continuous communication with contractors and customers in the development and implementation of projects to ensure a uniformity of purpose and common targets.
- Close working with the project manager and team.
- Manage the Bill of Materials.

- Experience in rail projects with working knowledge of ETCS.
- To be able to determine actions for escalation.
- Be able to provide clear reporting of project deliverables and issues.
- To be able to communicate clearly with the regional team.
