Join our team now at SiemensHealthineers as a PETScientist. This position is located in Knoxville, TN and relocation supportwill be provided to out of state candidates.
This is a role well suited to anambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a PETScientist, you will be responsible for:
- Supports thetechnology/innovation roadmap of the PET Physics and Reconstruction team
- Supportshardware innovation development at all levels: detector, analog electronics,digital electronics, acquisition computer and system level
- Supportssoftware innovation development at all levels: PET data corrections; imagereconstruction algorithms, both analytical and statistical, design,implementation and optimization; image processing.
- Assurestransfer of technologies into product solutions by working closely with otherR&D teams and product management
- Participatesin publication of results at conferences and in peer-reviewed journals
- Protectsinnovations with invention disclosures
- Travels bothinternationally and domestically for customer visits and conferences

- Strong mathematical background
- Experience in Monte Carlo simulation
- Experience in artificial intelligence and neuralnetworks
- Experience in electronics and detector designand FPGA programming
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communicationskills and can-do attitude
- Strong collaboration skills and ability tothrive in a virtual and fast-paced environment
- Outstanding ability to work independently, becreative, overcome obstacles
Required skills to have for the success ofthis role
- Ph.D. in physics/mathematics/electrical/nuclear engineering or related field
- Experience in multiple programming languages,preferably including C++
- Experience in a research environment in one ofthese fields: PET, image reconstruction, radiation physics, nuclear physics,particle physics, or related field.
