The DI SW Legal department is a global team located all over the world,with its headquarters in the US. As Siemens DI SW continues to expand ourglobal presence and navigate the complex landscape of software and cloudservices, we recognize the need for a seasoned legal professional to join ourLegal team as a Senior Legal Counsel.
The Central Legal Hub is a team of legal experts (mainly based inthe United States) with diverse individual areas of expertise operatingas a single cohesive unit, that leverages the strength of teamwork and auniquely global perspective to address both ongoing and unexpected legalchallenges of the continuously evolving DISW business.
What role will you play?
You will work exclusively for the DI SW business of Siemens aspart of the Central Legal Hub, supporting them remotely from Lisbon, Portugal.
You will play a crucial role in shaping the global legal strategy;balancing recurring standard transactional demands and novel legal scenarios; andensuring the seamless integration of various business needs into our corporateframework. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who is agile in theirareas of expertise; is capable of managing a high volume of agreements andnavigating high-complexity transactions; while simultaneously promoting thedigitalization and automation of key legal processes to optimize operationalefficiency and effectiveness.
We expect you to:
AgreementManagement:
Autonomouslynegotiate and manage a high volume of agreements, ranging from standard tohighly complex, ensuring compliance with regulatory and policy requirements,while maintaining a customer focus.
Act as thelead or sole legal business partner for non-standard or unique transactionssuch as for new business models or newly acquired companies pre-integration.
DigitalizationProjects:
Identifyopportunities for digitalization and automation solutions to streamline legaloperations.
Participatein or lead projects aimed at enhancing global processes and improvingefficiencies.
GlobalReach:
Perform theabove responsibilities on a global scale, collaborating with internationalteams and serving as a point of contact for legal matters in variousjurisdictions and across multiple time zones.
Ensureseamless communication and coordination between legal and business teams acrossdifferent regions.
InternalTeam and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaboratewith senior executives and cross-functional teams within the organization,providing legal insights to support business objectives.
Act as akey legal advisor on strategic initiatives and projects.
As regards location, your role will be based in agrowing Hub organization in the Legal department of Siemens Portugal. ThePortugal Hub currently consists of 6 colleagues and serves various countriesand businesses around the world.
We are looking for
- a fully qualified lawyer (US JD, LL.M. orcomparable degree from another jurisdiction and admission to practice law inthe jurisdiction)
- Excellent knowledge of English (mother tongueor long-term work experience in English drafting, EU level C1)
- 10+ years of experience in transactional lawas the lead legal partner in negotiations, with a focus on software and cloudservices
- a proven track record of managing complexagreements and transactions on a global scale
- high awareness of client satisfaction andstrong ability to work with different cultures
- willingness to integrate in the local team inPortugal while working mainly for the US and other jurisdictions
Desirable:
Experience in leading or participating in digitalization projects.
Experience with working for a US software or technology company inan international setting.
