About the role
The role of Senior, Global Revenue Accountant is a highly collaborative and influential role at Brightly Software.
The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a multifaceted technology environment where new initiatives and consistent learning define every single day. We are looking for a strong communicator who prioritizes relationship building and is proficient in financial accounting and financial reporting.
This is a global role. The successful candidate will have a history of financial reporting experience, hands-on technical expertise, process improvements and intercompany transactions. This candidate will have a passion for coaching and for learning in an evolving environment. The Senior Revenue Accountant will be a key contact throughout the organization. With over ten thousand customers spanning four countries, this role requires consistent interaction with external partners as well as across departments to initiate and maintain relationships.
What you will do
- Review customer contracts and billings for non-standard terms, multiple elements, and to ensure that revenue has been recognized in accordance with accounting principles.
- Lead monthly revenue accounting close efforts for a global organization, including reconciliation and review of accounts receivable, deferred revenue, revenue related intercompany accounts, transfer pricing, and monthly revenue.
- Monitor, recommend, and implement improvements to current methodologies, practices, and processes.
- Update and maintain the company’s revenue recognition policy as business processes evolve and accounting standards change.
- Ensure compliance with key controls in the order to cash cycle, audit requirements, and reporting requirements.
- Prepare monthly income statement and balance sheet variance analyses and other ad-hoc reporting for management as well as data analysis.
- Assist in the year-end audit process, actively working with external auditors to ensure that the interpretation of revenue recognition accounting standards is consistent and compliant with accounting principles.
- Work closely with other finance team members and cross functional departments such as Sales, FP&A, Product Management and Legal.
- Mentor and develop members on the team. Assist team members with understanding and applying accounting guidance.
- Other responsibilities and special projects as assigned by management.
What you need
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related business field.
- 3-5 years in public or private accounting with relevant revenue accounting experience (ASC 606 or IFRS 15).
- CPA certification preferred.

The pay range for this position is $64,700 - $110,900. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
