Reporting to the Commercial Project Director your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Project Mobilisation
- Support the Commercial Project Director in the handover from the Tendering and Estimating team of the financial elements of a successful bid, creating the baseline budget and full set up in the SAP system.
- In alignment with customer and Alliance partners to implement a common and adequate IT set-up for provide transparency toward customer and internally
- Based on the existing Siemens guidelines and processes to deploy Alliance project specific procedures to be integrated in the project management plan e.g. PM@Siemens, Purchase to Pay, Travel expenses guideline, Hiring and relocation guideline, Export Control, Logistics, signature authority guideline
- Support the CPDir in defining commercial processes and coordinating tasks within the commercial team
- Governance processes
- implementing efficient controlling tools and flows in order to fulfil required “open book” processes, enabling involved stakeholders to provide the envisaged transparency at Alliance and SMO internal level.
- drive consistent steering actions to achieve the targets set by the business in terms of revenue, profits and cash, in line with internal regulations (FRG’s)
- Performs ongoing optimization of organization, procedures, and processes to ensure rationalization potential, to optimize productivity and to increase customer satisfaction.
- Analyse regularly deviations from time, cost and risk level point of view
- prepare presentations and decision memos for the established owner and partner of the project, in the same way internally for the involved management of the business or local, regional and headquarter entity level.
- Supporting / advising other commercial team members regarding process and financial governance
- Contract and Claim Management
- drive the contract and claim management towards customer, partners, and suppliers.
- Identify lessons learned, sharing those with the team members.
- Implement measures and strategies to mitigate risk and maximize opportunities engaging with the assigned contract and claim management functions where required.
- Project Forecasting and Reporting
- Push and pull input to the responsible Commercial member on changes to the total planned cost, including changes to the forecast, schedule, resources, risks & opportunities, and cash flow
- Coach the commercial team in reporting project actual and forecast spend for financial control and budget forecasting.
- Elaborate foreign currency and cost/price indexation strategies to detect and mitigate risk exposure in a timely manner during the execution phase and implement optimization measures as necessary.
- Ensure all project reports and forecasts are submitted on time, accurate, and are understood and approved, where necessary, by the Siemens Project and Alliance Management teams.
- Since you will be dealing with cost reimbursable contracts, ensure all project audit requirements are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
- Enforcing compliance to standards, rules, and regulations – interacting with experts from Accounting, FPM, Tax, Treasury, P&O and Legal when required
- Subcontractors
- Supervise the setup, submission and processing of Payment Claims from nominated supplier and subcontractors, including certificates and invoices,
- Actively monitor the payment cycle, in line with the bank account payment process of the client, ensuring any required actions are taken to maximize the cash position, chasing payments with customer where necessary
- On Target Cost/Cost reimbursable contracts, ensure timely and accurate provision of all supporting information to enable issuing, approval and payment of all actual costs claimed.
- Other Responsibilities
- Act as the independent conscience of the project ensuring the integrity of the financial status and forecast, escalating issues or concerns where necessary.

Measures for success
- Senior Commercial Project Manager seen as a key partner and team player by Commercial Project Director, Project Director, and other team members.
- All budgets and forecasts, together with key risks, issues and opportunities, are owned, approved and understood by all appropriate parties
- All submissions are accurate, robust and on time
What do I need to qualify for this job?
- You hold a Master’s degree in a commerce, finance, business administration or related fields of study.
- Experienced in accountancy
- Strong negotiations and communicator skills with the ability to challenge and influence others
- Desire and ability to work closely and develop productive relationships with both Finance staff other project functions
- Advanced Excel skills
- The ability to analyse and use data to add value to a process or activity
- Be prepared to travel if required, occasional travel to project sites
- You have longtime experience as Commercial Project Director and/or Senior Commercial Project Manager role. Having successfully performed the Siemens SCPM-certification, a CPDir-certification will be significant advantage.
- Alternatively, you can offer broad experience and expert-know-how based on a commercial management role in complex project-business
- Excellent language skills (written and spoken) in English are required. German language skills will be an advantage.
- You have strong intercultural sensitivity and can work with teams and stakeholders from different countries and cultures, both internal and external.
