SCADA - Electrical Power Systems Software Engineer/Analyst

The Smart GridEnergy Automation Business Unit HUB in Curitiba, Brazil is looking for a SCADA- Electrical Power Systems Software Engineer/Analyst with C/C++ and Pythonexperience to join our team. Candidate will work with the project delivery teamto design, develop, test, and deliver SCADA components mainly based on existingcomponents. These components are integrated and delivered as part of SiemensEMS/SCADA software solutions.

As a SCADA -Electrical Power Systems Software Engineer/Analyst, you will be working ina team with experienced professionals of Siemens Energy Management solutions,delivering projects to global customers. Your responsibility will be toidentify and troubleshoot the specific customer needs and issues by applying yourknowledge from, but not limited to, software architecture and quality,programming and scripting.

Your challenges

•            Parametrizationof all the data points related to SCADA data model;

•            Creating SCADA data model in RealTime DB as well as in RDBMS Oracle DB;

•            Analyze the specific project requestand provide solution to it;

•            Perform configuration for specificRTU and its communication to control center;

•            Complete processing and presentationof all analogs, digital and accumulator values;

•            Configure Multisite system andprovide its stability and reliability;

•            Negotiate with Clients about theirspecific needs;

•            Debug code to find a cause of theproblem;

•            Write a new code to correct theproblem or to create a new feature for the Client;

•            Prepare performance scripts forvarious load scenarios;

•            Perform Performance testing beforenew system is going live.

What we needfrom you

•            Bachelor’sdegree in Automation, Information Technology, Engineering or related field;

•            Minimum of 3 year in technical orelectrical engineering within transmission or distribution operation, includingrelevant Project Delivery experience;

•            Experience with one of thefollowing: SCADA systems, mission critical systems or Network Grid ControlCenters software;

•            Basic knowledge of relationaldatabases and MySQL/SQL;

•            Ability to communicate effectively,highly technical information, clearly and concisely to peers, management, andcustomers;

•            Fluent English and Portuguese languageskills;

•            Extremely partner-focused, proactiveand effective within a team environment;

•            Software development experience withC/C++, Java and Python.

Additional relevant,but not necessary experience include:

•            Schellscripting (Bash, ksh, csh)

•            Experience with Agilemethodologies like Scrum

•            Experience with Linux,Windows, and AIX Platforms
