Siemens Aero-derivative Gas Turbines (AGT) is currently recruiting a SystemsReliability Engineer within our Technical Services function. Working with Package Solutions Engineering, you will be based at the services headquarters in Warwick and will work with a diverse team of engineers across the AGT organisation.
Over the past few years, our aero-derivative turbine business has successfully grown to be a £1 billion per annum global business by focusing on the supply and support of aero-derivative gas turbine packages and equipment to the global oil & gas and power generation markets. The business has supplied over 4,000 gas turbines to customers in over 80 countries accumulating over 200 million hours of operating experience. What are my responsibilities?
The key responsibilities of the Systems Reliability Engineer will be structured around analysis of maintenance and forced outage event data for identifying improvements to the reliability and availability of package equipment and systems.
· Own and run Safety and Reliability investigations and fleet improvement programmes; gathering and analysing fleet data to identify common or reoccurring issues, make use of recognised and appropriate Root Cause Analysis techniques, document and report findings appropriately, prepare and present potential solutions and improvement opportunities to the business while working to meaningful time scales.
· Apply reliability engineering techniques to identify and manage fleet wide or project-specific issues.
· Work with our regional based Technical Support teams and Field Services in supporting customers with reliability issues that require systematic analysis and implementation of a reliability systems engineering approach.
· Develop and support reliability improvement plans for both product and project specific activities. This shall include but not limited to activities such as reliability centred maintenance studies, reliability audits & assessments, optimizing maintenance procedures and schedules, risk assessments, product/system modelling and life cycle analyses.
· Travel overseas and offshore may be required on occasion in support of main responsibilities.
What do I need to qualify?
· As a minimum: a Bachelor's degree or equivalent professionally accredited in an Engineering discipline preferably related to Reliability or Maintenance engineering, Data Analysis, Mathematics or related science disciplines; results no lower than 2:1. An MSc qualification in the above topics will be preferred.
· Must demonstrate practical experience in the field of Reliability Engineering and be an experienced practitioner of a Systems Engineering approach to product improvement is essential.
· Ability and experience with statistical analysis of failure data for understanding and improving reliability of equipment will be essential. This shall include fundamental understanding and practical use of reliability, availability and maintainability metrics (e.g. (MTBF, MTTR, OEE, etc.)
· A working knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques (MS Excel, Tableau, QlikView/QlikSense), Reliability Centred Maintenance tools and systems (ReliaSoft RCM++), use of simulation and systems modelling tools (MatLab/Simulink or similar) and programming languages (Visual Basic, R, Python, etc.) would all be advantageous.
· Familiarity with and experience in failure mode analysis with ability to problem solve and effectively communicate findings.
· Genuine interest in data, information, emerging digital trends and their impact on the society and business development.
· Proactive, well-organised and result-oriented approach combined with an ability to communicate clearly and efficiently in English, both in writing and verbally.
· Broad outlook combined with analytical mind-set: ability to make logical connections and understand the big picture quickly, as well as having a critical eye for reliability improvements
· Experience of working with industrial aero-derivative gas turbine technology or similar industrial products for Oil & Gas or Energy industry would be advantageous, but experience from other industries with transferrable skills could also be considered.
