The role.
R&D Manager of the Product Development department reporting to the Head of R&D. The Product Development Manager is a vital role at Innomotics LLC. Strategically this person is responsible for the future of the medium voltage drive product platform as well as supporting the global organization in Asia, Europe and the Americas. Tactically this person is the day-to-day manager of the department and is responsible in owning the planning and the development of all project work.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of a product development team that includes electrical and mechanical engineers.
  • Monitors and proactively risk manage issues through all phases of the product development lifecycle to ensure quality and timely delivery of innovative systems.
  • Collaborates with Product Management to define a product roadmap that enables achievement of business goals in an efficient and low risk manner.
  • Globally implements an architecture strategy to build a new generation of the product platform for Innomotics medium voltage drives.
  • Enjoys working on meaningful and sophisticated projects while meeting deadlines and budget, while maintaining scope.
  • Be able to tackle technically ambitious problems either directly or indirectly.
  • Driving constant improvement based on KPIs tied to business performance levers.
  • Interacting with staff in their professional development.
  • Work with multi-functional groups that include (but not limited to) power electronics, SW development, product compliance, applications engineering, manufacturing, type testing, and drafting
  • Develop new design methods, new processes or design changes to improve process and sub-vendor manufacturing efficiency.
  • Strong technical leadership, documentation, project management, and writing skills.

Your profile.

  • Minimum BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of related work experience. Advanced degree may be substituted for years of experience.
  • 3+ years of people management experience.
  • Strong grasp on fundamentals of electrical engineering (or) power electronics concepts, theories and practical applications.
  • Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of sophisticated assignments.
  • Experience in control theory for the design, analysis, and testing of power electronics-based converters required.
  • Development experience on the Innomotics Perfect Harmony GH180 product.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues.
  • Required travel 5%.

The pay range for this position is $109,200 - $187,200. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
