Position Overview:

The Quality Assurance Group Lead Inspector plays a pivotal role inensuring the quality and safety standards are maintained within themanufacturing process. This position leads all aspects of all inspectionprocedures, coordinates quality control efforts, and collaborated withmulti-functional teams to maintain and improve product quality.

What you will be doing:

  • Actively coordinates with ProductionSupervisors to plan and implement daily inspection activities in an area peragreed upon schedule.
  • Trains and leads all aspects of the work ofother inspectors.
  • Work under minimum supervision.
  • Regularly collaborate with Assembly, QualityManagement, Engineering Customers Ris.
  • Leads critical non-routine visual,dimensional, mechanical, electrical test and functional inspections on a widevariety of components, assemblies, equipment, systems, supplies and materials.
  • Works independently to perform complex andcritical inspection processes, requiring special set-ups of new or uniqueequipment and interpretation of test data from a variety of sources.
  • Coordinates ordering of consumables and smalltools for department use.
  • May conduct first article inspection of partsand assemblies.
  • Prepares, approves inspection reports, charts,and records regarding quality measures, conformance status, and quantity ofmaterial processed.
  • Actively participates in the development ofinspection guidelines, instructions, and training material.
  • Ensures assigned areas meet 6S standards andsubmits equipment maintenance requests.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Understanding ofinspection methods and equipment, the ability to perform complex shopmathematics. 
  • Ability tointerpret and use blueprints, specs, engineering drawings, electricalschematics, materials lists and inspection standards.
  •  
  • While performing the duties of this job, theemployee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precariousplaces; and in outside weather conditions.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use handsto finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with handsand arms.

The hourly rate range for this position is $26.00-$34.40 per hour. The roleis eligible for overtime and shift differential pay for certain work schedules.The salary may be higher or lower depending on your experience and skills.
