This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As a  Prototype Machinist , you will be responsible for :

·       Supporting the R&D teams and labs by creating custom fabricated parts, maintaining equipment, and managing a work load in an efficient manner. Machinists manage raw material inventories, equipment and assist the engineering staff to hit critical prototyping milestones with the highest quality parts.

·       Meeting both quality and scheduling expectations.

·       Maintaining a clean and safe shop working environment by strictly adhering to the departmental procedures.

·       Having 5+ years of machine shop experience working with milling machines, Lathes, and Sheet Metal tools.

·       Performing high and low responsibility tasks, including general machine maintenance, occasional assembly work, and organization.

·       Experience with additive manufacturing processes.

·       Proficient use of measurement tools and able to work in both metric and standard units.

·       Knowledge of and experience with CAD/ CAM tools and virtual design environments.

·       Proven adaptability and flexibility as part of a team.

·       Leadership skills.

·       Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

·       Mechanically adept and able to lift up to 35 lbs.

Required skills to have for the success of this role

·       Minimum of 5 years shop experience or 3yrs with formal training.

·       Strong understanding of GD&T and how to read and apply it when fabricating custom parts.

·       Computer literate and able to operate both NC and manual equipment.
