Siemens Mobility provides efficient andcoordinated transportation of people and goods by rail – including rollingstock, rail automation, rail electrification, and service. We craft andmanufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter andregional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives,passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely onus to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as wellas signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transitsystems.
Siemens Mobility isseeking a professional Project Manager with a proven track record of handlingsophisticated projects.
The Project Managerwill be responsible for the execution of light rail projects ranging from $20Mto $600+M in value and durations from 3-5 years. The Project Manager isresponsible for project execution during phases including proposals, planning,design, procurement, manufacturing, commissioning, and customer acceptance.Duties include advising resources in a matrix-structured organization whilemeeting goals for customer happiness, cost, schedule, and quality. The PM isthe focal point for customer communication for all aspects of the project. Thisposition will report to the Projects Director.
Responsibilities
- Profit & loss for assigned projects.
- Optimally communicate and lead project expectations to team members and customers in a timely and clear fashion. Lead team members to effectively implement all phases of the project; team members include engineering, manufacturing, procurement, commissioning, and warranty.
- Lead project during the design phase through engineering design reviews of major systems to develop the light rail vehicle design. Own the design effort with the Customer; understand design topics to identify/negotiate areas of scope increase and resolve scope/design disputes.
- Proactively and efficiently handle changes in project scope, identify potential problems, and devise/implement contingency plans.
- Lead customer negotiations for changes in scope, cost, and schedule.
- Supervise and control project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and customers.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships.
- Develop and deliver monthly project reports, customer progress reports, customer change proposals, and presentations to management and internal/external customers.
- Coach, mentor, empower, and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Identify and resolve issues/conflicts within the project team.
- Support customer sales channel activities
Requirements
- 8 to 10 years of successful Project Management experience in sophisticated projects. Experience in a related field (e. g. construction of heavy machinery) is helpful.
- Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
- Excellent technical, oral, and written communication skills; must be able to demonstrate presentation skills.
- Technical experience with rail vehicle project management, engineering, or manufacturing preferred.
- PMI PMP certification is a plus.

Thebase salary range in Sacramento, CA, is $118,100 - $159,600 with an annualincentive target of 10% of the base salary. The salary may be higher orlower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge,skills, and qualifications.
