The role.
Project Manager (PM) implements complete project plan on product or sophisticated product type orders. PM is responsible for delivery of product on time, high quality, and at or under budget. PM drives projects from order handover to the factory (could include Bid Phase collaboration) to transition to Field Service/Warranty as single point of contact for customer, building and maintaining customer relationship as well as ensuring Best-in Class customer satisfaction. PM ensures proactive, timely and clear communication throughout project life cycle both internal and external customer focused. PM is responsible for all Project Management activities including development of overall project schedule, project plan, communication plan, contract management, project financial performance/budget, identification/management of risk and maintaining project risk register as well as identifying and implementation of lessons learned. PM shall also own the project scope and use the project change management process to evaluate and proactively pursue all project opportunities, maintain/increase project margins and control scope creep. PM is responsible to continuously evaluate project resource needs, project risks in support of the development and maintenance of Project plans and maintain the List of Open Points (LOP) or action lists. PM participates in cross-project, cross functional planning to resolve conflict related to project priorities, resources, quality, schedule and scope. Overall responsibility for project performance related to Project deliverables (scope), schedule, quality, risk, safety and financial performance. PM also leads project team in bi-weekly or monthly team status meetings, monitor and control of schedule, financials (incl. NCC’s), risk, performance, lessons learned etc.

This role has a focus on high complexity and nuclear projects within the factory.  Nuclear experience or experience with high complexity projects is required for the role.  This includes additional steps for these orders along with increased project tracking and milestone adherence.

PM shall take a proactive approach in identifying issues and risks within projects and take appropriate steps to mitigate and/or resolve within project team. PM will effectively use fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of Project Management as defined by PMI and PM@Siemens as appropriate. Intra-organizational cross-functional International teams; partnering with sales and marketing and all key internal personnel to support customer and business goals.

Additionally, PM will assist in the implementation of Lean Six Sigma agenda at the factory including the facilitation and processing of value stream mapping to improve the factory performance across multiple departments. PM will act as a change agent within the organization to drive process improvements from start to completion and ensure evaluation of success at critical points after completion.

  • Demonstrated expertise in defining and tracking project scope, goals, schedule, budgets, and execution strategies in collaboration with project stakeholders (incl. Factory cross-functional teams)
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and business process mapping skill and a history of identifying and implementing process (business and/or manufacturing) improvements
  • Experience developing and executing Risk Management and Project Communication strategies
  • Lead Domestic and International Projects with basic understanding of Logistics and INCO terms
  • Successful Leadership of Cross-Functional Project team and serve as the single point of communication for customers
  • Develop and Maintain Project Schedule Develop Project Plan
  • Proven Proactive Change Management approach to Projects
  • Customer Satisfaction (Customer Voice Survey) leading to customer loyalty
  • Project NCC Responsibility and control
  • Accountable for Project Financial Performance Identification and Mitigation of Project Risk - Risk Register
  • Proven Lessons Learned mindset
  • Project Team Meetings (Minutes, Presentations, etc) and support needs of various departments in delivery of requirements to the customer.

Your profile.

  • BS/BA in related discipline required, technical preferred
  • PMI (PMP) Certification preferred, ability to obtain within 1 year of employment
  • Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma or Lean Certification from a reputable organization preferred
  • 5+ years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above
  • Experience with highly complex technical projects required.
  • Experience with nuclear projects is preferred
  • Experience within manufacturing, oil & gas, power generation preferred
  • Expected Travel – As needed, not to exceed 25%
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously (20+ projects with varying levels of complexity)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)

The pay range for this position is $87,000 - $149,200. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
