Buyer

We are currently looking to add a Buyer to our Sourcing team based in Northampton. Working as part of a team, you will be responsible forstrategic procurementprocesses (covering planning, sourcing and supplier management) ensuring they are robustlyapplied tothebusinessfor bothexisting fleetsand newbids/projectsin order to reducecost and managerisk.

What are my responsibilities?

·  Toensurelong term and cost-efficient supplyof materials and
services.
·  Support in the establishment and maintenanceof the appropriatesupplychain controls to deliver thebusiness objectives, including identification andmeasurementofproject related KPI's.
·  drive supplier relatedimprovement.
·  Championtheuseof diverse supplierswithin the Siemens Rolling Stock supplychain as appropriate.
·  Identification and deliveryof cost reduction opportunitiesand measuresto reduce the operational cost baseof RL UK using the full rangeof advanced procurement tools andprocesses, including e-procurement and ANC (Advanced Negotiations Concept)where appropriate.
·  Reduction in supplychain related NCC (Non-Conformance Costs)
·  Identifyparticular SupplyChain risks, opportunities and market forces to avoidpotential damageor exploit opportunities through tailored risk/opportunity management.

What do I need to qualify?

Essential:

·A goodknowledgeof SupplyChain activitieswith abroadworking knowledgeof operational, commercial and financial activities acrossarangeof businesses or an in-depth knowledge ina particular business.Typicallyhavingworkedwithin a similar role/area.
