As part our last bigphase of recruitment for our Wind Turbine Blade Manufacturing Facility in Hull we are advertising for Production Operatives to work within ourPacking Department. Our Packing Production Operatives are responsible for layering materials into the mould according to process specifications and sequences set out by our Engineers.
The materials include glass fibre sheets and balsa wood. You will work as part of a team of 8 people and will involve lots of standing, twisting, stretching, bending and some light lifting, always whilst paying close attention to the health and safety of yourself and those around you. If this stage of our process is done well it greatly reduces the risk of any re-work that might be required further down the line.
What are my responsibilities?
· Organise and use materials and hand tools
· Plan and carry out your work, as part of a team, to process materials according to engineering specifications and quality standards.
· Check and monitor constantly ensuring very high levels of attention to detail

What do I need to qualify for this role?
· Ability to follow work instructions, standard operating procedures
· Any team working experienceExperience of working with fiberglass or other sheets of material
· Some experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment would be advantageous
· Experience of working a shift pattern would be advantageous
· The flexibility to train in other locations, possibly including a trip to Denmark.
What else do I need to know?
· You will work a shift pattern that may include nights and weekends, plus some hand over time at the beginning and at the end of each shift. You would normally work an average of 40 hours per week.

Siemens recently announced that it plans to merge its current Wind Power and Wind Service organisation with Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa; this merger is currently underway and will result in a brand new organisation. It will be the single largest Wind Turbine organisation in the world and will be in market leading position across all global markets. Consequently, we anticipate that the role offered will transfer in accordance with TUPE to a new company that shall be part of this merger, currently targeted for 1 April 2017.
