Our Power Academy, based in the Raleigh, NC, area is dedicated to imparting cutting-edge knowledge and skills in the field of protection and control schemes, communication network technologies, and system network architecture. Siemens Electrification and Automation is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrification & Automation (EA) Product Trainer to join our growing team as we expand our global Power Academy footprint in the US.
The Power Academy is in start-up mode, and it’s a very exciting time to join this new team. Power Academy opens its doors to participants in January 2024. It will also be a part of our brand-new Customer Experience Center, which is currently under construction. There is a lot of excitement and anticipation for the value we will bring to our employees and customers.
We are looking for Product Trainer. This position will be based in Wendell, NC.
Overview:
As an EA Product Trainer, you will be pivotal in delivering comprehensive training programs to our employees and customers, enabling them to grow their skills, knowledge, and confidence to engage with our products. Most of your training sessions will be conducted at our Wendell, NC, Power Academy facility. You'll provide training on various LV and MV power distribution equipment. These trainings will cover important topics such as safe operation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair. Additionally, you will cater to customer-specific needs by offering on-site/virtual classes that may involve travel to client locations as required. Currently, the expected level of travel is very low as we are focusing on in-person training in Wendell.
Responsibilities:
- Training Delivery: Conduct engaging and effective training sessions on Siemens’ low/medium voltage power distribution products. This role isn't restricted to low/medium voltage product knowledge; other Siemens EA product experience is a plus.
- Course Development: Collaborate with the Product Lifecycle Managers to create, enhance, and update training materials, presentations, and hands-on exercises to ensure the content is up-to-date and aligned with industry trends.
- Hands-on Learning: Design practical, hands-on lab sessions to reinforce theoretical concepts and provide participants with real-world experience in design fundamentals, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Customer Engagement: Understand customer needs and tailor training programs to meet specific requirements, ensuring that participants gain relevant knowledge applicable to their job roles.
- Travel and On-site Training: Offer training sessions at customer sites, including travel to different locations as needed, to provide personalized training and support to clients based on their operational environments.
- Feedback and Assessment: Monitor participants' progress, assess their understanding, and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve the desired learning outcomes.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest advancements in power distribution technology, industry standards, and best practices to ensure the training content remains current and relevant.

Basic Qualifications:
The EA Product Trainer role requires a combination of technical expertise, teaching skills, and strong interpersonal abilities. Here are the key skills required for success in this role:
- Technical Proficiency: Expert level knowledge in Low and or Medium Voltage Power Distribution Equipment. Proficiency in commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing these systems is essential. Knowledge of Siemens-specific equipment is preferred but not necessary.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial. Clear articulation, active listening, and the ability to explain technical details in a comprehensible manner are essential for facilitating effective learning.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills are required to build rapport with participants and create an open and inclusive learning environment. Approachability, empathy, and patience contribute to successful engagement.
- Problem-Solving: The ability to analyze and solve problems related to power distribution. This includes troubleshooting issues, answering participant queries, and providing real-world solutions.
- Time Management: Efficiently managing training schedules, preparation time, and administrative tasks associated with delivering effective training programs.
- Passion for Developing Others: A genuine passion for imparting knowledge and skills, coupled with enthusiasm for empowering professionals in the field of power distribution.

- The pay range for this position is $88,340 - $151,440 and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
