Our expertise is constantly evolving and our business keeps growing. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Metallurgist.

As Principal Metallurgist, you will be working in a busy metallurgical laboratory, supporting the business with in depth knowledge as a means to ensure that our products are reliable and cost effective. Your duties will be to provide expert knowledge in a wide range of manufacturing techniques associated with Gas Turbine manufacture, in particular precision casting of nickel based superalloys and associated manufacturing techniques.

What are my responsibilities?

•To provide general metallurgical support for the Siemens small gas turbine engine product range.

•Provide support to; suppliers, sourcing, quality, manufacturing and engineering.

•Disposition of non-conforming material, approval of drawings, material selection and manufacturing processes.

•Process improvements and design for cost activities will also be tasks that will be required on a regular basis.

What do I need to qualify for this role?

•Minimum of Degree or equivalent in a Materials/Metallurgical discipline.

•Manufacturing experience in the casting industry would be a distinct advantage, in particular experience of single crystal casting methods and practices.

•Skills in the following areas; IT, Project Management, presentation techniques.
