We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Researcher in Cybersecurity and provide the unique opportunity to contribute to the development of industrial products and services based on your research findings and shape the future of cybersecurity at Siemens. Together with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and industry professionals, you will conduct cutting-edge research, and contribute to the advancement of the field. Beyond this we will support you to publish your work, to visit international conferences, and to develop the ideas you have for the future of cybersecurity.
Join us in bridging the gap between academia and industry, making a tangible difference in protecting industrial environments, industrial services, and critical infrastructures from cyber threats. This job position is not restricted to a specific research topic. We are interested in research that aligns with or contributes to our current security architecture focus areas, e.g., cloud/container/network security, PKI, IAM, zero trust, and/or zero-touch onboarding.
Please note that the contract is fixed to 24 months.

In your role as Postdoctoral Researcher, you design security modules and security architectures for Siemens’ products and solutions, and you conduct applied research to develop new technologies.

- You research and develop new cybersecurity mechanisms to protect industrial environments, industrial services, and critical infrastructures and apply them in projects with Siemens business units worldwide by developing proof of concepts.
- You identify and investigate cybersecurity challenges in industrial environments, industrial services, and critical infrastructures.
- You publish your research results internally and externally.
- You provide technical consulting and coach stakeholders from Siemens’ business units on security topics.
- You collaborate with national and international partners, both, internally and at universities and research institutions.
- You select and supervise students or PhD students.

- You have an excellent Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a strong focus on cybersecurity.
- You have a strong drive for achievement, a genuine desire to discover and try out new things and are curious about new technologies.
- You have sound knowledge of cybersecurity, distributed systems, software architecture and software development. Knowledge about Internet of Things, edge and/or cloud computing is a plus.
- You demonstrated your ability to conduct independent research through publications in top-tier conferences or journals.
- You have proven experience and deep knowledge in implementing software.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication English skills with the ability to present complex ideas effectively. German skills are a plus.
- You show strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- You are a strong team player.
