The Division's portfolio ranges from systems for the low-voltage and distribution power grid level to smart grids and energy automation solutions to power supplies for industrial plants and high-voltage transmission systems.

About the role

Portfolio Consulting Professional – Transformer Digital Services, Monitoring and Diagnostics (M&D).

Specific Requirements: Lead the marketing and business development activities to realize bookings quota for Transformer Digital Service and M&D (on-line Monitoring & Diagnostics) portfolio in the region. Desired candidate will develop a detailed pipeline which will include defined strategies to find new opportunities while retaining and growing the existing base. Specific focus on customer specification influence and acquisition of new accounts to achieve greater market share for retrofit and new applications.

Key responsibilities

- Provide M&D technical support for end customers and internal partners to drive acceptance and specification influence.

- Create/update technical information, data sheets, and other marketing collateral for the entire M&D portfolio for use in the South Africa and South East African Region markets. Also, to include commercial and technical competitive landscaping by individual portfolio element.

- Drive growth in business volume through proposal activities for digital services and M&D portfolio in co-ordination with Siemens TR, external branding partners, and third-party sub-suppliers.

- Active participation in product development by providing feedback to HQ R&D of local/regional requirements and current market trends.
-Training of Siemens sales, TR/CS BDMs on M&D Portfolio, digital services' capabilities and value propositions.
- Drive external marketing activities, communications, and trade shows events to highlight Siemens digital services and M&D portfolio.

- Support back-office with tender/offering activities (costing and specifications).

- Bridge transformer on-line monitoring with switchgear on-line monitoring (understand switchgear monitoring portfolio and identify synergies).

- Support Project Management installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of online monitoring systems:

·Decode the customer specification.

·Understand the customer communication and data network and optimal interface with the on-line monitoring system.

·Identify resources required for Installation & Commissioning.

·Assist with the interface with Center of Competence during project execution

What do I need to qualify?

Undergraduate degree in engineering preferably Bsc. Electrical

- Understanding of IT and Industrial communication protocols

- Minimum two (2) years sales/engineering experience in transformer and switchgear on-line monitoring.
- Understanding and/or work experience with some or all of the following areas is preferred:

(1) Transformer Monitoring and Diagnostics products,

(2) Power Transformer Condition Assessment
- Must have excellent interpersonal, negotiating, writing and presentation skills in order to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts
- Ability to travel up to 75% domestically and internationally required
- A history of measurable goal-driven success
- Success in working in a multicultural team environment
