Our R&D department works on innovations and technologies for the future of advanced manufacturing and circularity on an industrial scale.

  • In your job you will support our team in the development of digital solutions in the field of advanced manufacturing.
  • First, you will learn how to use and operate state-of-the-art robot-based manufacturing systems (including an industrial robot-based additive and subtractive manufacturing system and a human-robot setup), Industrial IoT devices and software by Siemens and cutting-edge path planning software.
  • You will analyze the requirements for the autonomous and adaptive design of robot-based toolpaths and screen the state-of-the-art software together with our technology experts.
  • You will be responsible for researching and developing a scalable software solution to generate these toolpaths using innovative methods such as GenAI (e.g. LLMs).
  • The methods should be applicable and transferable to three main robotic use cases: additive manufacturing, adaptive machining and disassembly
  • You are significantly involved in the further development of Siemens products as a key enabler for the industrialization of advanced manufacturing and production systems using machine learning.

We are searching for open-minded, innovative and motivated people. Your profile:

  • You are currently enrolled in or have finished a master’s degree like mechanical engineering, robotics, mechatronics, or computer science.
  • You have experience in programming and using robots.
  • You have already gained experience in working with AI models.
  • Ideally, you have practical experience with mechatronic systems, involving IoT or microcontroller programming.
  • You know how to use CAD/CAM software (e.g. Siemens NX) and are familiar with manufacturing technologies such as 3D printing or machining.
  • You have experience with Linux and ROS 1 / 2.
  • Experience in visual inspection, Docker and Git is a big plus.
  • You enjoy practical, goal-oriented work and are characterized by a structured and independent way of working in a scientific manner.
  • You are willing to cooperate in cross-functional and international teams.
  • Very good written and oral English skills are required, German skills would be an asset.
