The research group Wireless Networks evaluates and applies modern wireless communications systems and machine learning tools to create new industrial applications. The successful candidate will work on the following tasks:

· 
Create prototypes of new applications (e.g. augmented reality/vision, mobile robots/AGV, edge computing/edge machine learning)

· 
Evaluate the performance of wireless communication systems (5G, WLAN, SDR) through field trials and lab measurements

· 
Select and apply suitable machine learning algorithms:

· 
To monitor and optimize communications systems

· 
To realize novel industrial applications

· 
Development software modules with C/C++ and Python in Linux

We don't need superheroes, just super minds.

· 
You are currently a student of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field with focus on wireless communications and you are required to complete a mandatory internship under university study regulations

· 
Your programming skills in C/C++ and Python are on advanced level and you are experienced with Linux

· 
Knowledge of structure and operation of wireless communications systems (e.g., LTE, 5G, WLAN) is an advantage

· 
Theoretical knowledge and/or practical experience with modern machine learning algorithms are a plus

· 
Practical experience with software defined radio is an advantage

· 
Experience with any of the following tools is beneficial: GNUradio, Open Air Interface, Netzwerksimulator ns 3, Omnet++, USRP, RFNoC, Docker, Netzwerke in Linux, Keras, Tensorflow, Pytorch, Arduino, Android ARCore

· 
Very good written and oral English skills are required, German skills would be an asset

We encourage you to use this subject matter towards your BSc or MSc thesis. The duration of this internship is based on the study regulations of your university.
