Position Overview

A member of a dynamic and forward thinking global networks team, dedicated to the development and support of best-in-class data network solutions in order to exceed the needs of a demanding and challenging EDA company. Depending on your level of experience and building upon your existing knowledge over time, this position will be focused on providing operations support across a spectrum of network infrastructure and services including wired/wireless LAN, WAN services with the possibility of expanding into other network technologies as you grow into the role.

Operations support includes: Equipment installations, network infrastructure projects such as office relocations, firmware upgrades and resolving customer reported incidents and service events.

The successful candidate will be able to utilize their own judgment to resolve problems and perform research. They will be comfortable addressing both routine and non-routine network related problems for the customer.

Main areas of responsibility:

General Operations Support : Achieving the highest standard of operational support, service availability and customer satisfaction are fundamental objectives. To achieve them you will be part of a globally positioned network support team responding to automated infrastructure alerts and outage events as well as incident tickets raised by employees, including other members of the IT organization, seeking assistance for network related issues.

Keeping the customer happy by effectively troubleshooting and resolving customer's network issues and ensuring prompt issue resolution to the customer's satisfaction, by using a systematic problem solving approach, will be key to your success.

Network maintenance is a key element of running a highly-available and secure network so you will also participate in scheduled maintenance activities to upgrade hardware and software in order to keep the network maintained to the highest standards.

You will also participate in a follow-the-sun, shared on-call rotation to provide support for critical network services.

Network Projects : The network is constantly evolving to meet the needs of the business and the team is always engaged in projects to deliver new services, increase performance and add capacity. This includes the installation of network infrastructure on-site in Wilsonville in a multi-building campus and, in most cases working remotely, for other offices in the Americas and beyond. The team delivers networking services for a tier-2+ data-center in Wilsonville where network installations are also required to be completed to the highest standard in this business critical and tightly controlled environment. Playing a lead-role in the installation of network equipment in new and relocated Mentor field offices will also be an objective for this position.

You will also develop effective implementation plans and support procedures for network solutions you help to design and implement.

You may also be required to travel occasionally within North America and Europe.

Skills and Previous Experience:

In order to be considered for this exciting, challenging, but rewarding opportunity you should have a level of practical experience in one or more of the following:

● Cisco/HP (or comparable) networking LAN/WAN installation and troubleshooting

● Wireless Installation and troubleshooting

● Physical Installation of switches and routers

Additional experience supporting WAN services and infrastructure would be an advantage.

Requirements:

● Interpersonal skills: Comfortable with Video & Voice Communication, face to face communication; possess good active listening with a focus on the customer.

● Good communication skills both verbal and written, short term operational project management

● Strong remote troubleshooting and support skills.

● Excellent documentation skills using content management systems and standard Microsoft tools
