Position Overview:


Mechanical Engineer Rotordynamic

·  Main function is to achieve excellence in Mechanical Reliability of turbo compressors, in the revamp, aero / mechanical design, construction, installation, aftermarket service and technical support functions
·  Primary accountability: handle rotordynamic activities in design contracts within schedule and budget, support Marketing & Sales in proposal development for revamps or Upgrades and providing technical support to customers on installed fleets.
·  Serving the legacy Rolls Royce, Delaval and OEM fleets

Responsibilities:
·  Being the rotordynamic lead within the design team, supporting Project Managers, Layout Drafters, Core Tech Engineers, Production / Sourcing / Manufacturing teams
·  Responsible for rotor / bearing / seal optimization, coupling selection, API-617 & API-684 lateral and torsional (steady state and transient) rotordyanmics.
·  Support production testing as required.
·  Support field work and on-site diagnostics as required.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

·  Bachelor's in mechanical engineering
·  Must be specialized in rotordynamic analysis and code development
·  Minimum of 5 years of experience in rotordynamic design
·  Up to 20% travel
·  2D CAD knowledge, Microsoft Excel

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·  Master's in mechanical engineering withSpecialization in Rotor Dynamics
·  8+ year in rotordynamics design, with API-617 & API-684 lateral & torsional experience
·  2+ year in journal bearing application and design
·  Strong in analytical disciplines such as mathematics, thermodynamic, finite-elements
·  Programming skills in VBA, C / C++
·  Use of precision measurement tools such as micrometers, PI tapes, portable cmm
·  Proficient with AutoCAD (2D), Uni-Graphics or SolidWorks (solid modeling)
