Job Description:

Position Overview

As a Manufacturing Engineer (Compressor) you will be applying technical knowledge to develop processes for manufacturing activities including shop routings, work instructions, fixture and tooling designs and strategies for process improvements. Interacts with design engineering and production personnel to research and evaluate fixturing and test plate requirements. Design and manage the making or procurement of fixtures and tooling.

In addition you will also be providing advanced technical expertise and production knowledge in areas of manufacturing processes, tooling, methods and standards for manufacturing engineering functions. Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes for economical, quality production of components and assemblies.

Your Responsibilities

·  Uses technical expertise to develop generative process planning, engineered standards, and tool design
· 
Evaluate manufacturing processes and creates improvements through implementation of new technology, process changes, automation and/or product design modification

· 
Ensure environmental/safety issues arising from area of responsibility, or from own activities, are managed according to legal requirements, company policy and procedures, and good work practices

· 
Verify parts/assemblies and services are in accordance to drawings, specifications and quality system. Stops any operations not in conformance to quality system. Develops corrective action plans for eliminating defective work

· 
Drive projects to improve productivity, quality and safety

· 
Research engineering bills of materials, technical drawings, tool databases and engineering standards to determine test plate and fixture requirements

· 
Develop routings for reciprocating compressor parts manufacturing and supports with test plate and fixture design using CAD software as well as simple CAM programming

· 
Take ownership of processes and drives efforts of continuous improvement (Ownership Culture)

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·  Bachelor's degree in mechanical/industrial engineering or equivalent years of experience
· 
Up to 2 years of experience inmachine shop production

· 
Ability to resolve complex problems and issues

· 
Ability to work effectively in teams and with production operators and supervisors

· 
Knowledge of process development for manufacturing (specifically assembly and test of machinery)

· 
Knowledge of ERP systems

· 
Knowledge of CAD tools

· 
Understanding of LEAN manufacturing

· 
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Excel, Word)

Preferred Knowledge/Experience/Skills

·  Masters Degree
·  SAP Experience
·  Experience and knowledge of applying Lean manufacturing
·  Siemens NX and Teamcenter
