Job description
SiemensMobilityprovides efficient and coordinated transportation of people and goods by rail –including rolling stock, rail automation, rail electrification, and service. Wecraft and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, includingcommuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros,locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroadsalso rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricitytransmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight andpassenger rail and transit systems.
The Manager ofField Service Engineering will work in an experienced international teamresponsible for enhancing the reliability and availability of next-generationLocomotives, Light Rail Vehicles, Passenger Cars, and Trainsets that ourcustomers are using to connect cities and communities all over North America.
Responsibilities:
- Direct a team of Field Service Engineers regarding their technical development and interpersonal skill development.
- Develop methodologies to drive effective and efficient root cause analysis investigations.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve systemic failures by crafting and validating improvements for our customers.
- Communicate to customers the status of investigations, next steps, and encouraged resolution timelines.
- Planning, prioritizing, scheduling, and prioritizing multiple management tasks simultaneously.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in the mechanical or electrical field of study preferred. Instead of a Bachelor’s degree, a combination of education and relevant work experience in the rail industry will be considered.
- Excellent technical, oral, and written communication skills; must be able to demonstrate presentation skills.
- Experience in handling and leading multi-functional teams in a rail environment.
- Ability to balance multiple activities in an exciting and fast-paced environment.
- At least five years of successful experience in the area of responsibility and successful demonstration of the above.
- The position will be based in Sacramento, CA.

Thebase salary range in Sacramento, CA, is $132,400 - $178,600 with an annualincentive target of 10% of the base salary. The salary may be higher orlower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge,skills, and qualifications.
