Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy in Hull is at the centre of the UK’s renewable energy sector. The state-of-the-art factory began production in September 2016 after a build of only 21 months, opening three months ahead of schedule. The production line creates the 75-metre long blades for Siemens Gamesa’s market-leading 7Mw Direct Drive offshore wind turbines.

Each 28 tonne blade is fabricated, finished and inspected by hand. Siemens Gamesa employs around 1,000 people at the Alexandra Dock site, with more than 97 per cent of employees living within 30 miles. Blades and the other essential components necessary to build an offshore wind turbine are loaded at the bespoke three-berth dock, ready for shipping out via the Humber estuary.

As part of the next phase of recruitment for our Wind Turbine Blade Manufacturing Facility in Hull we are advertising for Maintenance Technicians. Our Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the daily maintenance of machinery tools and other plant equipment to ensure all are in an optimum state of repair with maximum operating efficiency and minimum downtime.

We are looking for candidates who possess very high levels of attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions in a logical and safe manner. If you have a passion for delivering quality and work well within a team environment this could be the job for you.

Previous experience working within a manufacturing environment is essential for this role.

What are my responsibilities?

· Scheduled and remedial maintenance of various types of equipment
· Supports maintenance of technical documentation of processes and equipment if required.
· Check and monitor constantly ensuring very high levels of attention to detail
· This role involves lots of standing, walking and some manual lifting always whilst paying close attention to the health and safety of yourself and those around you.
· Roles in the plant are safety critical and random drug and alcohol tests will be carried out. Failing this test could result in dismissal.
· You will be working as part of a close team and you’ll need to build excellent relationships.
· You must be able to follow instructions exactly as you are directed and not take short cuts or implement process improvements without following the correct procedure.

What do I need to qualify for this role?

· Ability to work shifts including nights and weekends
· The flexibility to travel to Denmark for training purposes (with at least 6 months left on your passport at the end of training)

What else do I need to know?

· You will work a shift pattern that may include nights and weekends, plus some hand over time at the beginning and at the end of each shift. You would normally work an average of 40 hours per week.
· If you pass the initial screen please be aware that you will be expected to complete online behavioral assessments.
