Position Overview Siemens Industry

Customer Services Division, Motion Control segment is currently looking for candidates to provide application engineering and execution services at customer sites to support the Machine Tool upgrade and retrofit portfolio. This is a field based customer facing role responsible for the execution of the retrofit/upgrade, and digitalization portfolios. The position reports to the Customer Service, Motion Control Solution Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for successful execution of Retrofit Projects at end user locations • Customer customization of the retrofit and upgrade portfolio; Manages a network of technical specialists in order to deliver costumer specific solutions • Execute the upgrade, retrofit and/or digitalization projects at customer sites. • Development of custom solutions to meet customer environment for the Retrofit, Upgrades, and Digitalization project work. • Report time to projects for accurate capture of project work both on site and preparation. • Establish an understanding and expertise of Siemens motion control products and the Siemens customer environment • Assist end user sales teams in the qualifying and costing of upgrade/retrofit opportunities • Develop working relationships with business developers, sales channel, proposal management team, field service, and solution partners • Conducting pre-sale activities and reviews including customer visits, evaluation of opportunities, machine assessment and recommendations, part processing recommendations and development of turnkey proposal • Provide on-the-job training for Company workforce during initial controller setup and programming;

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

• Technical Degree in required field • Experience and expertise working with and proving technical support of Siemens Machine Tool products • Proficiency in Sinumerik Controls and application support including Windows OS • Mechanical knowledge of CNC Equipment; • Knowledge of basic G-code programming language, machine function and CAD/CAM software; • Understand specific M-codes for CNC equipment (machine specific); • Understand G-code programming using variables; • PLC to CNC interface knowledge; and • Ability to understand and troubleshoot high precision CNC equipment. • Shall be trained and be proficient in the programming, startup, testing, and troubleshooting of the Siemens SINUMERIK controller • Previous experience with planning, engineering, implementation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of CNC upgrade and retrofit projects • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly to peers and management • Ability to establish relationships, build teamwork in a matrix environment Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience • Bachelor's Degree, in engineering or technical field of study • Experience in Service Operations or Engineering (5+ years) • Preferred knowledge of Machine Tool/CNC • 10+ years relevant work experience
