We are looking for a Software Developer for our Scrum teams. We develop in Linux operating system for Siemens HMI Panels: we are responsible for firmware implementation and operating system adaptations of HMI Panels.

What part will you play?

• Software design, implementation, documentation, unit tests, module tests, debugging in a multiline release cycle

• Develop CLI tools, applications, and testing mechanisms under Linux

• Develop, analyze, and profile applications under Linux Operating Systems

• Support testers by proving inputs during design/implementation of tests

• Producing high quality project deliverables

• Working efficiently in international software development environment

• Conforming to Siemens processes, quality standards, and guidelines

What you need to make real what matters.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar relevant degree

• Proven 2+ years of experience in software development

• In depth knowledge of Linux/UNIX systems, C/C++

• Experience in version control systems such as: Git, ClearCase, SVN...

• Experience with at least one of the scripting languages such as: Shell, python, perl..

• Comfortable with text-only linux environments, remote debugging and using command line tools

• Experience with Yocto, buildroot

• Experience with modern build pipelines and CI/CD concepts

• Experience with linux kernel development is preferred

• Very good command of English (German is a plus)

• Experience in industrial automation domain (HMI Panels and TIA Portal, or other engineering systems) is a plus.

• Strong problem solving and communication skills

• Efficient communication and negotiation skills.
