What are my key responsibilities?

·  Plan, execute and manage complex Lift Plan (SSOW) requirements on site for (Service/LOG MM/Offshore and SCM) and efficiently coordinate the RoRo/LoLo, Storage areas, Blade Factory, Service/LOG MM buildings and Pre-assembly areas in all lifting and transportation requirements in conjunction with all business areas inc but not limited too, offshore projects dept Lifting Engineer – AP's, IPM's, EHS, Marine, 3rd parties, vessel owners etc

·  Organise and participate in relevant lifting related workshops and toolbox meetings.

·  Review and Approve all Siemens internal Lifting Plans including Mob/Demob plans for cranes and transportation at the Hull GreenPort

·  Review all Lifting Plans and SSOW for clients and sub-contractors

·  Promote an operational and hands-on focused culture where the highest safety standards (ZERO HARM) goes hand in hand with operational excellence and progress.

·  Report into and provide weekly reports to the Lifting and Logistics Manager

·  Participate in relevant incident/accident investigations and provide technical expertise when required

·  Follow up and close out relevant actions relating to Lifting specific KRIMAs (safety alerts) & Tap Root investigations. Maintain Lifting KRIMA database in order to identify incident trends and mitigations.

·  Develop effective communication channels with Lifting & Logistics Manager, Service/LOG MM/Offshore and SCM business areas, Lifting Engineers AP's, Lifting Supervisors, Slingers, Signallers, Site Management, IPM's, PM's, internal, subcontractors and consultant parties involved in site activities to ensure safe and effective execution of the lifting and transport operations.

·  Perform contractor assessments (KPi's), monitor performance and perform regular audits against contractor scope, EHS requirements, personnel competencies and quality of operations & equipment. Ensure deficiencies are identified and rectified in an agreed timely manner and recorded.

·  Drive the Siemens safety culture on site;
Implement, maintain and communicate the strict adherence to the organisations environmental, health and safety and security procedures. Lead, encourage, document and monitor subcontractor, supplier and site team regime of safety audit, inspection and progress meetings to drive a continually improving safety culture
·  Collate, communicate and improve site safety performance to encourage an open and continually improving safety culture.

·  Provide support, technical and operational advice involving lifting and transport operations and processes including sub-contractors on behalf of the Hull port to all relevant stakeholders

·  Represent Siemens in a professional and positive manner at all times in order to reduce the risks associated with commercial and product liabilities.

·  Maintain detailed site logs and records of all project activity in support of the effective execution of lifting and transport operations.

·  Must be able to delegate duties but not responsibilities to the Lift Supervisors and ensure that the Lift Supervisors are fully briefed on all aspects of the lifting operations.

·  Identify and plan lifting operations for different but not limited to Onshore cranes/Offshore cranes and Overhead Crane types, explain their capabilities and limitations for given lifting operations from manufacturers specification manuals. This may include consultation with other relevant bodies and suppliers if necessary and ensuring that, where different organisations are involved they collaborate as necessary.

·  Know requirements of legislation, regulations and codes of Practice that relate to all types of lifting duties inc. basic, standard and complex (as defined by LOLER / BS7121 and PUWER). Knowledge of Maintenance, inspection, thorough examination and testing requirements for lifting equipment and accessories. Understanding of relevant information relating to different types of lifting accessories i.e. markings, certificates, and thorough examination reports, etc.

·  Identify and plan an area, with exclusion zones, for different given lifting operations incorporating safe access/egress routes for before, during and after the lift.
Evaluate and explain how environmental factors and the surrounding area external to the lift zone can affect the planned lifting operation. Complete a reflective report following a typical lifting operation detailing positive and negative aspects of the lifts (part of lessons learned)

·  Specific EHS Responsibilities include but not limited too
* Provide visible, strong and active EHS leadership within the project, acting as a champion for Zero harm, sustainable future and wellbeing.
* Support the Hull Port on all lifting matters relevant to site layout, transportation, ground conditions, logistics, lifting operations, planning etc. Develop specific Lift Plans and associated Risk Assessments and Method Statements (safe systems of work), ensuring all relevant lifting documentation, processes, procedures and policies are in accordance with Siemens Lifting Operations Standard, local rules and legislation.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

·  AutoCAD / MS Office / Onshore Crane experience essential – Offshore crane experience preferable

·  A strong background in the Construction Industry

·  Some travel within Europe maybe required

·  Understanding of LOLER / BS7121 / PUWER / CDM

·  UK HSE legislation

·  Personnel Management

·  Experience in writing Lift Plan/ SSOW/ AutoCAD drawings / Method Statements / Risk Assessments

·  MUST of held a CPCS AP Blue Card for a minimum of 5 years
