Licensing Enablement Support Team - Support Engineer

Siemens Digital Industries Software is aleading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture ofproducts across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships,space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily livesare being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management(PLM) software.

Requirement

As a Corporate Application Engineer for ourInfrastructure Support team, you will help customers tackle problemsinstalling, licensing, or driving a wide variety of our software! By workingclosely with customers (remote) you will uncover requirements for sophisticatedtraining and services that increase customer efficiency with our tools.

Job Qualifications

The successful candidate will possessthe following combination of education and experience:

• BS Computer Science/Computer Engineer/ Information Technology
• 3-5 years of experience in Software QA, Software Support, or IT Operations
• Significant experience with software Installation and Deployment
• Expertise in System Administration for Windows Operating systems
• Basic understanding of Computer networking requirements
• Strong verbal / written communication skills; excellent active listening skills
• Some travel may be required (in the future)

Additional experience that would benefit the successfulcandidate:

• Experience in System Administration of Linux O/S systems
• Proven understanding of FLEXnet licensing software!
• Demonstrated understanding of Software QA or debugging techniques
• Ability to develop scripts in Windows Bat, Powershell, Unix shell/perl/python, C, and/or SQL
• Previous experience with EDA software applications (Mentor Pads and/or Expedition), or other Siemens DISW software products using FlexNet Licensing

• Works with mid-level customers, engineers, and managers to develop or improve complex computer-aided engineering design or manufacturing processes
• Uses computer-aided systems to assist and teach lead customer engineers on large scale, complex design and tooling tasks involving multiple design environments.
• Cogently communicates software problems to product development. Assists other specialists in the design, development, and implementation of large scale, complex graphical application programs on software products and hardware platforms.
• Provides business and technical feedback to software and hardware vendors.
• Uses sophisticated data exchange methodologies to facilitate effective data sharing between dissimilar systems or applications that span across engineering fields.
• Provides technical mentorship to lead customer engineers in the application of sophisticated design techniques and system procedures related to computer-aided engineering software.
• Responsible for in-depth technical papers and presentations to customer management
• Guides junior engineers. Works with minimal direction on complex projects with wide latitude for independent judgment and well skilled with broad proficiency.
