About The Job

 

This is a SpringInternship that will last from late May 2024 through late August 2024.

 

Based out of theCompany’s headquarters in Cary, North Carolina, the successful candidate willwork alongside and with the General Counsel and the Brightly corporate legalteam, as well as directly with the various internal departments. The idealcandidate will be dynamic, articulate, organized, and able to supportcross-functional coordination in a diverse and fluid environment.

 

What You’ll Be Doing


  • Draft and assist with the negotiation of internal and external legalagreements under the direction of the General Counsel and in coordination withbusiness group contacts.
  • Organize and maintain the company’s contracts and corporate governancedocuments.
  • Assist with the preparation and revision of standard contracts andcompany policies.
  • Support departmental initiatives, including the new legal supportprocesses, contract programs, and templates, and the use of technologies toincrease efficiencies.
  • Maintain and streamline an electronic filing system with all companycontracts and other important documents.
  • Organize and maintain board of director materials and assist with legaldepartment’s preparation for board and committee meetings.
  • Assist with the preparation of board and shareholders meeting minutesand/or consents.
  • Prepare stock option agreements and manage option exercises, includingpreparation of stock certificates.
  • Maintain and assist with corporate formalities, such as annualcompliance filings and state specific compliance requirements.
  • Gain familiarity with recent privacy laws.
  • Assist internal and external counsel, as well as various business unitclients in customer claims/issues; assist drafting of resolutions andsettlements.
  • Project tasks and project management responsibilities, as needed. 

  

 

What You Need


  • To be currently enrolled in an ABA accredited law school program for aJuris Doctor.
  • Strong computer skills required, including proficiency with MS OfficeSuite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint). 
  • Experience with Confluence and Conga (preferred, but not required)
  • Prior work experience at a law firm or within a corporate legal settingwith proven experience in contract/document management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Excellent organization and record-keeping skills with attention todetail.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic, and ability to work with a teamand independently.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; manage, prioritize,and organize several projects in a timely fashion.
  • Possess excellent judgment in decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle highly confidential informationappropriately.
  • Ability to remain flexible.


The pay range for this position is $25/hour. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
