Laboratory Technician – Sudbury, Suffolk

Do you want to contribute to the future of healthcare? Come and join our team as a Laboratory Technician at our Point of Care Diagnostics business in Sudbury. Responsible for all level of analytical testing, equipment maintenance and calibration. The role will involve data collection and/or data analysis using recognized methodologies based upon a combination of experience and written instructions.

Supporting the production for quality related aspects, this role is designed to act proactively and resourcefully to ensure compliance of process, timely inspection of incoming parts, optimization of activities and proactive implementation of duties.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

·       Manages the day to day activities as per given plan for all conventional aspects of site Quality support in regards to the processes relating to products manufactured within the ISO13485, FDA 21CFR820 controlled environment.

·  Routine testing of all the products in accordance with regulatory requirements and agreed schedules as per the documented procedure to ensure adherence to specification.
·  Maintain detailed laboratory records in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) through the use of company data recording procedure and ensure that all records and test results are accurately prepared and checked  prior to QA release.
·  Record deviations from the normal practice and out of specification results appropriately and report them to the line manager; Investigate adverse results and provide expert advice and recommendations to Production and assist with investigations product and test anomalies.
·  Responsible for the operation, maintenance  and troubleshooting of the laboratory equipment, ensuring records are maintained of any calibration, maintenance as per schedule.
·  To ensure compliance with established procedures and Company and Departmental Safety Codes of Practice.                                                                                                                             
·  Responsible for the safe storage and/or disposal of test samples, reference materials and reagents following set procedures, record incoming samples according to the appropriate SOPs and ensure all samples and materials are handled safely following departmental procedures. 
·  Write, review and update SOPs and associated pro-forma used within the laboratory, prepare draft method of analysis and SOPs when new techniques are introduced in the area and actively participate in the validation of test methods and equipment used in analysis to meet regulatory requirements.                                                                                                                 
·   Facilitate the process of ordering of laboratory consumables to ensure efficient running of the laboratory.                                                                                                                                              
·  Perform a variety of other tasks and duties as assigned from time to time based business need.

Your experience and skills:

·  Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820
·  Familiarity of lean manufacturing processes including knowledge of GLP and GMP
·  Problem solving skills
·  Document Control
·  IT skills - Outlook, Excel, Word, SAP
·  Flexible approach and ability to adapt according to workload
·  A strong work ethic - Sets high standards and works diligently and quickly
·  Good verbal and written communication skills
·  The ability to work effectively within a team
