IT Americas Internship: Data Analytics

Job description
- Provide support in the ongoing data science projects in the Region specifically the Americas.
- Build frameworks for machine learning and GenAI projects and use these frameworks to solve business problems.
- Write SQL and Python programs to support with data engineering and machine learning use cases.
- Work on visualization tools like (e.g. tableau, powerbi) to create user friendly dashboards and analyze data.
- Interface with the architects and the senior developers to review the code and the dashboards developed.
- Document activities in a structured manner that enables carrying forward the project and reduce dependencies.
- Use Snowflake to review and analyze data.
- Work with subject matter experts (SME) to better understand the Siemens processes and use cases.
- Identify areas for improvement and be proactive in implementing automation wherever possible.
- Publish documentation in Internal SharePoint site and wiki site.
- Current rising junior or senior undergraduate students pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
- Pursing a degree in management of Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
- Applicants must live within 50 miles of Alpharetta, GA (relocation assistance is not provided) and be able to work 40 hours per week from May to August.
- This is a hybrid position that combines remote work with in-office collaboration, requiring applicants to be present in the Alpharetta, GA. office a minimum of two days per week.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R is essential. Python is particularly popular in the data science community due to its extensive libraries like NumPy, Pandas, and scikit-learn.
- Good understanding of machine learning algorithms and/or large language models, with the ability to implement these algorithms.
- Ability to work effectively with multinational and diverse group and demonstrate leadership skills.
- Capacity to efficiently manage and prioritize a variety of concurrent activities.
- Proficiency with SQL preferred but not mandatory.
- Curiosity to learn new tools and improve on the job.

- The pay range for this position is $24 - $31 per hour. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
