We are seeking qualified candidates for our Grid Software Internship Program in Software Development beginning in May 2024. This program is based in Minnetonka, MN.
This internship will allow you to work with experts in the Energy industry who have developed the software, products, and services that electrify the world! If improving global sustainability excites you, then this internship is the opportunity for you! The goal of this internship is to prepare you to join Team Siemens as a full-time employee once your degree is attained.
Internship Position Information:
- This is a 12-week summer internship.
- Part-time work during the academic year may also be available.
- This position offers a hybrid work schedule with access to our Minnetonka, MN office.
Role Description:
- Work with a mentor / within a Software Development Team
- Analyze feature requirements and bug reports.
- Troubleshoot and debug bug software solutions on customer systems.
- Design and implement software solutions.
- Perform software validation, including executing and implementing automated tests.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
- Current junior or senior undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree, or master's student with at least one year remaining in their program. Candidates must not be graduating prior to September 2024.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Familiar with C/C++, Java, Python or SQL programming languages
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
- Ability to report in-person to our Minnetonka, MN office. Qualified candidates must live within 50 miles of Minnetonka, MN. Relocation assistance is not provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of applications of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Experience using collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Slack, or Discord.
- Ability to work effectively with multinational and diverse groups and demonstrate leadership skills.
- Self-starter with good time management skills and the capacity to effectively prioritize a variety of concurrent activities.

- The pay rate for this position is $31 per hour for undergraduate candidates and $31-$35 per hour for master's candidates. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
