We are seeking qualified candidates for our Grid Software Internship Program as a Project Management Assistant beginning in May 2024. An earlier start date based on candidate availability may be possible. This program is based in Minnetonka, MN.


This internship will allow you to work with experts in the Energy industry who have developed the software, products, and services that electrify the world! If improving global sustainability excites you, then this internship is the opportunity for you! The goal of this internship is to prepare you to join Team Siemens as a full-time employee once your degree is attained.


Internship Position Information:

  • This is a 12-week summer internship.
  • Part-time work during the academic year may also be available.
  • This position can be fully remote (within the US) or a hybrid work schedule with access to our Minnetonka, MN office.

Role Description:

  • Work within a software developer team with a project manager, system architect and software developers.
  • Assist with monitoring and tracking progress of the program and report status updates to stakeholders, with a focus on product management and engineering.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of program documentation, including project plans, schedules, and status reports, with a focus on product management and engineering.
  • Help to identify and mitigate risks and issues to program delivery, with a focus on product management and engineering.
  • Analyze data and provide insights into program performance to identify areas of improvement, with a focus on product management and engineering.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure successful program delivery, with a focus on product management and engineering.
  • Assist with product management and engineering tasks as needed.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:


Basic Qualifications

  • Current junior or senior undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree, or master’s student with at least one year remaining in their program. Candidates must not be graduating prior to September 2024.
  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or Technology field.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of applications of Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
  • Ability to write macros in Excel or willingness to learn.
  • Experience with Python coding.
  • Able to work on Pacific Time schedule.
  • Interest in arithmetic, accounting, data analytics, and presentation of data.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, Jira, and Confluence.

  • The pay rate for this position is $31 for undergraduate candidates and $31-$35 per hour for graduate candidates. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
