Join us on our two year-long graduate development programme to get to know us from the inside and see how we can make a different to society. During this time, your development is intended to provide a thorough grounding in your discipline as well as developing personal and management skills.
The challenge
· As part of the Research and Development team you will be involved in the design and development for both embedded systems and PC tools from concept to delivery.
· The main purpose of this role is to develop software for, and support of, embedded systems and products. Candidates will be working on new developments for the power transmission and distribution networks including PC tools. The role will include involvement in the design and responsibility for implementing key features.
· You will also be involved in international developments across different business units within the Siemens group.
The candidate
· Candidates should have obtained or be expecting to obtain at least a 2:2 degree in software or a technology based subject.
· Technical Knowledge
· ‘Hands on' technical experience gained during industrial placements / degree projects.
· Exposure to any of the following would be beneficial:
· Experience with C# / C / C++ / .NET / XML / HTML / Java Script
· Windows software develoment
· Software Design, preferably using an object oriented methodology.
· Software Design using an agile design approach
· Internet of Things
· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office elements including Word, Excel, Outlook.
· Interpersonal skills
· Problem solving
· Good Communication Skills and the ability to present ideas and results back to the team and Management
