Then come and join our global team as Gradient Coil and Shim Design Physicist (f/m/d) for MRIs.

Choose the best place for your work – Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average volume of 60% of the respective working hours.

Your tasks and responsibilities:
  • You develop state-of-the-art gradient coils and shim systems based on innovative architectures, circuits, and integration concepts
  • You drive the development of digital twins and simulations for gradient coils and shim systems and its interaction with other system components such as the magnet
  • You follow the latest technology trends and identify innovation fields for gradient coils and shimming in the MRI environment
  • You work independently in a cross-functional, agile team with experts from mechanics, layout, system architecture and software. Together you develop the MRI platforms of the future
  • You will accompany your components from the initial concept phase, through product development to series launch
  • You will take over product support and maintenance within your area of responsibility and independently carry out cost-down measures

Your qualifications and experience:
  • You have a master's degree in physics, electrical engineering, mathematics or mechatronics, ideally with a focus on applied electrodynamics and electromagnetics.
  • You have several years of experience in the field of electrodynamics and electromagnetics e.g. high voltage technology, simulation and computational methods
  • Alternatively, you have a PhD in physics or a related field, preferably with a focus on medical technology, electrodynamics/electromagnetics and simulation, or a similar subject area
  • You are familiar with electrical and radio frequency measurement techniques, such as network and spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes
  • You have good knowledge of engineering and electromagnetic simulation software (e.g. Matlab, Simulink, Mathematica, Maple, NACS, ANSYS etc.)
  • You are thrilled by the abilities methods such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, uncertainty and chaos theory offer and you are eager to apply them
  • You have a strong hands-on mentality and enjoy the mix of theoretical and practical work
