· You are part of a new, agile team implementing high-quality software solutions for signal processing and visualization of medical images with a real-time requirement; this software helps physicians and clinical staff to make decisions regarding therapy during treatment
· In close cooperation with both local and international colleagues from algorithm pipeline and computer hardware development, you are responsible for complex logic modules on an FPGA basis for communication and data transmission links for medical images with a real-time requirement
· In this context, your tasks include the conception, the hardware/ software co-design, and the simulation and verification of system-on-chip solutions with embedded processors on an FPGA basis
· You take an active interest in innovations and developments in architecture approaches in the field of hardware/ software co-design, and put these to use in implementing your solutions
· Your method of working is characterized by active and open communication with colleagues and interface partners from the different areas with the aim of achieving high-quality solutions
This position may suit you best, if you relish the challenge of implementing complex algorithms with custom digital electronics.
· You have a master's degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications or a related engineering discipline, or have obtained a comparable qualification
· You have many years of relevant work experience in FPGA design with XILINX or Intel/Altera modules and board design
· You have sound knowledge of electronics hardware development processes in relation to control and automation systems
· Your in-depth knowledge of VHDL and the different synthesis tools (e.g. Intel Quartus, Mentor Precision, Xilinx XST/Vivado, Lattice SE) as well as simulation sets you apart; you have gained an additional qualification or completed courses in FPGA design (Xilinx, Intel/Altera, Lattice)
· In your work, you are also able to draw on your knowledge of C programming, the MS Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as PCI Express, Ethernet, USB, CAN and other relevant interfaces from the computer environment and in the area of signal processing
· You have very good English language skills, enabling you to communicate with colleagues at all locations; German language skills would be advantageous
· At a personal level, you are a highly analytical self-starter with a results-oriented approach underpinned by high quality standards
