Finance & Commercial Officer

Siemens have an exciting opportunity for a Finance & Commercial Officer to join our Finance team in Manchester in our Digital Factory Business.

Siemens Digital Factory and Process Industries and Drives provide hardware, software and services to automate, integrate and optimise our customers' plants and factories across various industries.

Reporting to the Finance and Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for supporting your assigned area of the business with finance and commercial matters.

What are my responsibilities?

·  Timely and accurate invoicing, monitoring and resolution of invoice queries; Debtor reviews; active participation in debt collection / management.
·  Timely and accurate completion of month end and related activities including: posting of journals; calculation and assignment of Costs Of Sales where required; regular review of Work In Progress balances.
·  Responsibility for completing ICFR controls for area of own responsibility
·  Review and approval of supplier invoices and resolving queries as required
·  Controlling and monitoring of balance where the goods have been received but invoices not received (or vice versa)
·  Review and control of local orders, revenue and costs for your allocated area
·  Reporting and analysis of utilisation levels for our large pool of engineers
·  Actively participating in process improvement activities
·  Supporting the business by providing ad hoc analysis as required in a timely manner
·  Participation in monthly forecasting process and reporting What do I need to qualify for this role?
·  Experience of working in a finance and/or commercial department/ team and / or a Degree in Finance / Accounting
·  Experience of using SAP would be advantageous
·  Experience of using Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
·  Candidate studying towards CIMA qualification would be desirable but not essential.
·  Customer focused – experience working in a customer facing role
·  Collaborative, team player but also able to work autonomously
·  Organised, methodical approach. Able to manage multiple, simultaneous demands and workload spikes at key times eg financial period ends.
