Job description

Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinatedtransportation of people and goods by rail – including rolling stock, railautomation, rail electrification, and service. We craft and manufacture acrossthe entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passengertrains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, andhigh-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to providetraction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signalingand control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.

The state-of-the-art locomotives are diesel-electric with Tier 4 4,400hp diesel engines. Our vehicles are connecting cities all over the UnitedStates and we are working together with the customer on-site to achieve themain goals for the warranty period. This job will train you on how totroubleshoot, repair, and perform field modifications to achieve a highcustomer satisfaction and improve reliability. Siemens is looking for someonewho enjoys working hands on and is interested in learning more aboutelectrical/mechanical systems.

Responsibilities:

Commissioning and Warranty oflocomotives and/or coaches.

Troubleshooting and analysis offailures on locomotives or coaches.

Perform with the use of mechanicaldrawings, schematics, and location circuit plans, electrical and mechanicalrepairs of various components.

Use laptops with subsystem software totroubleshoot various systems onboard the locomotives.

Diagnose electrical malfunctions inlocomotive or coach control circuits and components, assess the nature ofproblems, and identify corrective action needed.

Read, interpret, and understand writtenor electronic information to identify the Root cause of failures and compilereports for your site lead and warranty manager.

Understand and follow company andindustry safety rules, practices, and procedures.

Implementation of Field Modifications(FMI’s) to improve the quality of our product.

Document failures, part exchanges,implementation of FMI’s, and your performed work in our Commissioning andWarranty database.

Communicate in a team, to the site leadand colleagues, verbally and in writing, technical information, job procedurerecommendations, improvements, and other work-related information.

Receive and send out failed parts forrepair. RMA.

Work with shop machines and hand tools.

Working fully hands-on.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

High school diploma (or GED)

Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team

Individuals must possess a validDriver's license in good standing.

The job will require travel, around 25%of the time to different warranty sites in the United States.
