Job description

Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinatedtransportation of people and goods by rail – including rolling stock, railautomation, rail electrification, and service. We craft and manufacture acrossthe entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passengertrains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, andhigh-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to providetraction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signalingand control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.

The state-of-the-art locomotives are diesel-electric withTier 4 4,400 hp diesel engines. Our vehicles are connecting cities all over theUnited States and we are working together with the customer on site to achievethe main goals for the warranty period. This job will train you on how totroubleshoot, repair, and perform field modifications to achieve high customersatisfaction and improve reliability. Siemens is looking for someone who enjoysworking hands-on and is interested in learning more about electrical/mechanicalsystems.

Responsibilities:

Commissioning andWarranty of locomotives and/or coaches.

Troubleshooting andanalysis of failures on locomotives or coaches.

Perform with the use ofmechanical drawings, schematics, and location circuit plans, electrical andmechanical repairs of various components.

Use laptops withsubsystem software to troubleshoot various systems onboard the locomotives.

Diagnose electricalmalfunctions in locomotive or coach control circuits and components, assess thenature of problems, and identify corrective action needed.

Read, interpret, andunderstand written or electronic information to identify the Root cause offailures and compile reports for your site lead and warranty manager.

Understand and followcompany and industry safety rules, practices, and procedures.

Implementation of FieldModifications (FMI’s) to improve the quality of our product.

Document failures, partexchanges, implementation of FMI’s, and your performed work in ourCommissioning and Warranty database.

Communicate in a team,to the site lead and colleagues, verbally and in writing, technicalinformation, job procedure recommendations, improvements, and otherwork-related information.

Receive and send outfailed parts for repair. RMA.

Work with shop machinesand hand tools.

Working fully hands-on.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

High school diploma (orGED)

Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team

Individuals must possessa valid Driver's license in good standing.

The job will requiresome travel to different warranty sites in the United States.
