As a FieldService Engineer Apprentice at Siemens Healthineers, you will be an integral partof our field-based engineering team of approximately 200 engineers across GreatBritain & Ireland. Your responsibilities will include installing,repairing, and maintaining our cutting-edge medical systems. You'll provideessential technical service support to our customers, working at hospital sitesacross the UK, initially focusing on South East England, all the while earningLevel 3 and 4 accredited qualifications.

What toExpect:

  • Attend a local college to work towardsachieving a Level 3 Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering,progressing to a Level 4 qualification over the 4-year period.
  • Visit customer sites across the SouthEast, as well as Siemens manufacturing sites and training centres in Germanyand the US.
  • Gainhands-on experience diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electricalissues on high-tech medical products.
  • Uponcompletion of the apprenticeship and with a good training record, you will havethe opportunity to apply for a permanent full-time position as a CustomerService Engineer with opportunities for further education and product training.

Benefits:

  • Starting salary£13,750 with generous annual performance-based increases and opportunity to workwith our generous overtime package.
  • In year 2, youwill be provided with a van for business use for your apprenticeship and yourfuel costs will be covered by the business.
  • offer a £500 fund for driving lessons, theory test, and practical test fees ifyou do not yet have a driving license. A full license is expected within thefirst 9 months of the apprenticeship.

To apply for thisField Service Engineer Apprentice role, you will need at least four GCSEs atgrade 4 (or C) or above, including English Language and Maths.

You will also need to meet the UKGovernment's Apprenticeship eligibility criteria:

  • Have been a UK/EU/EAA resident for the past three years or more prior tostarting the course 
  • Have left full time education when the apprenticeship you are applyingfor is due to start 
  • Be aged at least 16 years old to meet government funding criteria.

  • To support the shortlisting process for our Early Careers roles, and to enable candidates to showcase their potential beyond what is on their CV, we will often make use of online assessments or/and on-demand video assessments. 
  • Further assessment usually takes the form of interview or/and an assessment centre. Assessment centres typically include some combination of activities such as group problem-solving tasks, individual interviews, presentations and in-tray exercises. 
  • In most cases we try to hold these final stage interviews or assessments in person where possible, to enable candidates to meet our team and get to understand a little bit more about what we do and what it might be like to work for us.
