EMM – Electrical Power Systems Software Engineer/Analyst

As an EMM –Electrical Power Systems Software Engineer/Analyst based in Curitiba – PR,your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement and execute complextechnical assignments related to Electricity Market Management System (EMM)software applications. This will involve analyzing, designing, programming,troubleshooting, recommending solutions, enhancing, providing technical supportand implementing modifications associated with EMM applications. You will berequired to develop functional requirements, design specifications,documentation and perform testing of EMM software applications. EMM softwareapplications development and delivery involves: Day ahead and real-timemarkets, unit commitment and economic dispatch, power flow analysis softwareapplications.

The rolerequires providing day-to-day technical support and to be responsible for theoperational support of the on-line EMM software applications at variouslocations. The role also requires problem resolution including performing rootcause analysis and interacting with the team and customers. You will beinvolved in all aspects of software development cycle: estimation, design,development, testing and deployment.

Your challenges

• Promote and demonstrate best practicesand high-quality software development processes, including development of newcode and maintenance of existing code.;

• Writesdocuments for new project tasks, such as Design notes, testing procedures,etc.;

• Provide effort estimates to ProjectManager/Project Engineer for new project tasks;

• Support sales during the bid procedures;

• Support after sales and SLA withcustomer support;

• Support test and continuous integrationactivities;

• Ability to work independently and beself-motivated;

• Ability to work effectively in a teamenvironment;

• Strong oral and written communicationskills;

• Highly organized and efficient;

What we needfrom you

• Fluent English and Portuguese languageskills;

• Bachelor’sdegree in Electrical Engineering;

• Master’s degree in electricalengineering with strong software development skills;

• PhD. in electrical (Power) engineeringor related work experience of 3+years in power systems is a plus. Priorexperience can include demonstrated engagement in the industry/universityprojects or thesis in the areas of Power System Analysis involving OperationsResearch, Generation, Transmission and/or Electricity Energy ManagementApplications problem formulation and corresponding software development;

• Education and experience focused on thetopics of mathematical modeling techniques and analysis in Power SystemOperations (Generation, Transmission and Distribution Network) and optimizationtechniques will also be considered;

• Additional experience:

• In 2 or more of the following:C/C++/Fortran/Perl/Python/Java;

• Oracle PL/SQL or RDBMS;

• GIT source code control;

• Agile methodologies like Scrum andKanban;

• Platforms: Linux and Windows;

• Prior experience can includedemonstrated engagement in the industry/university projects or thesis in theareas of Power System Analysis involving Operations, Generation, Transmissionand/or Electricity Energy Management Applications problem formulation insoftware development.  ;

• Education and experience focused in thetopics of software modeling techniques and analysis in the area of Power SystemOperations (Generation, Transmission and Distribution Network).
