Job Description

As EHS Officer you will drive the Zero Harm Culture @ Siemens in the Netherlands, making sure that we are all safe at work and that our colleagues return to their family and friends as healthy as when they started the day ina large international engineering company #FutureMakers

“We make real what matters” Hans Winters is looking for a new EHS Officer to fit into his dynamic team for Siemens in the Netherlands. As CEO of Siemens Netherlands, Hans is actively driving safety as a business task. The EHS Officer will be reporting directly to Hans and will actively work together with both local and international colleagues.

At Siemens our work in the Environment, Health and Safety department involves making sure that we have a risk-based and hands-on approach to EHS. We must comply with rules and regulations on health and safety, and surely policy, processes and quality systems are important. At Siemens we firmly believe that managing safety comes down to being at the job, the workplace or the project location when it matters. Especially when high risk work is being performed. We believe in looking out for each other on the job, not in hierarchy.

In your role as EHS Officer you willwork in a distributed team. For example, with the EHS experts and leads in the business, but also with responsible business management. In addition, you will also have frequent contact with partners, subcontractors and customers of the projects we work on.

You will be responsible for:

·  Work place visits and investigations, to determine and improve safety on the job.
·  Lead and coordinate the team of dedicated EHS professionals in the business.
·  Develop and drive the Zero Harm and Healthy @ Siemens culture.
·  Maintain an effective and efficient EHS management framework, including policy, budget, year plans, programs, monitoring and reporting.
·  Ensuring our EHS framework (and the implementation thereof) is internally and externally audited and verified.
·  You maintain relations with international colleagues at headquarters and regulatory and government agencies in the Netherlands.

“What does this role feel like?”

On any given day you will visit a worksite or project location, where Siemens colleagues are working, to determine the safety on the job. You will give direct feedback, based on your experience and expertise to individuals or engage with management to improve safety.

Later that day you could have a call with a supplier that is working with us to improve job safety. In a telco with our international headquarter you discuss the focus points for health management for the next year. One of the EHS professionals in the business calls you to discuss the quarterly reporting and analysis for EHS for that business line. In between appointments you stop by our barista at the office for a freshly brewed coffee and manage your inbox and your calendar.

“What do you need to make real what matters?”

·  You are educated to at least HBO (higher professional education) degree level and you have a “Hogere Veiligheidskunde” certification
·  You have a three- to five-years' work experience as an EHS professional in a comparable industry (electrotechnical, infrastructure, building)
·  You are result oriented. You believe in a risk-based and common-sense approach to health and safety
·  You can combine practical do's and don'ts with a good business understanding. You are able to address unsafe working conditions professionally, on all levels of organization
·  You are proficient with (digital) technology and know how to apply digital technology in order to achieve higher safety on our jobs
·  Expert knowledge of Dutch rules and regulations, as well as the actual practice on health and safety in the Dutch context
·  Proficiency in Dutch and English is a must for this position.

“We have quite a lot to offer, but what's in it for you?”

·A good salary.

·27 days' holiday and 13 days 'working time reduction' (ADV) days per year.

·You will be part of an international network.

·Continuous development opportunities thanks to our training offer.

·Fitness and seated massage opportunities during or after work.
