We are now recruiting for an offshore EHS Advisor to be based on site at Ramsgate to join our existing Environmental, Health and Safety team supporting our Service Renewables business within Siemens. The job holder on site ensures that Siemens complies with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, Siemens standards and site requirements on a day to day basis.

What are my responsibilities?

The primary objective of this role will be to monitor and assess safety performance on site, implement improvement plans and drive the ongoing Zero Harm safety culture. This role is to support the servicing side of the business not construction and the successful candidate will report to a Regional EHS Manager.

Some of your day to day tasks will include but not be limited to

· Provide management and employees with competent HSE advice. This will entail point of work visits, turbine inspections and technician inspections and coaching.
· Interpret the requirements of the Zero Harm Implementation plan and ensure the plan is successfully implemented within defined timescales.
· Provide assistance in the completion of risk assessments where required, and ensure that they are regularly reviewed.
· Ensure all accidents, incident,and near misses are recorded, reported and investigated in accordance with the company accident and reporting procedures and all corrective actions are identified, implemented and reviewed. Ensure accident and incident statistics are compiled and acted upon locally.
· Ensure relevant health, safety and environmental records (e.g. policy documentation, risk assessments, safety data sheets, registers, fire drills and training records) are kept, maintained and updated as and when necessary.
· Ensure provision is made for all employees, including agency temporary workers, to receive suitable and sufficient training and instruction by way of the company health, safety and environmental induction programme.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

You will have a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent preferably NEBOSH Diploma or working towards this qualification. You must have a background in working for large and complex engineering/manufacturing businesses where you’ve had to interact with multiple stakeholders.

You will be able to demonstrate strong organisation skills and have excellent attention to detail. A strong level of competence within H&S including knowledge of H&S legislation is a pre-requisite. Lastly, you will have solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
