This opportunity is unique to active-duty USMilitary Service members with formal approval to participate in a SkillBridgeInternship as a Client Service Manager, incollaboration with Vets2PM’s authorized DoD SkillBridge program.

Fire Inspectors play a vital role in preventing, detecting, andmitigating the impact of fires. You will perform tasks such as minor repairsand visual and functional testing on fire alarm systems in accordance with allnational and local standards. Why is this soimportant? Our fire inspectors significantly contributeto public safety, property protection, and overall emergency preparedness.

As a Fire Inspector, youwill:

  • Follow and maintain high structured inspection schedules providing inspection, testing, and performing minor service and deficiency repairs for fire alarm equipment to comply with NFPA72 standards as well as state and local codes. Note deficiencies, remedies, and review pricing with customers. Complete service ticket documentation before leaving the customer site. Follow-up on corrective actions
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of all tests performed. Generate reports within Siemens tools and upload to city municipality websites
  • Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper operations and routine inspections. Assist with training
  • Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures 

You will make an impactwith these qualifications:

BasicQualifications: 

  • Proven electro-mechanical aptitude (based on previous experience and/or education) and user PC/software skill; proficient in Microsoft Office
  • 1+ years’ experience performing Inspections, Testing, and Maintenance (ITM) of Fire Alarm Systems
  • Be able to work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical and electrical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment, working in ducts, above ceilings, and in outside/inside/heat/cold/day/night conditions; use hand tools, laptop (Microsoft proficient), email, smartphone, and tablet; carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
  • Must be able to differentiate types/colors of wire

Preferred Qualifications:

·        U.S.Military experience as an E4 or above (Navy, Air Force, Army, Marines, CoastGuard, Space Force, National Guard, Reserves)

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • NICET Level 1 certification preferred 
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity or experience with engineering HVAC, Building Automation, Fire Alarm, or Security systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and business software systems
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States
  • Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations
