Siemens Magnet Technology has an exciting opportunity for a Magnet Development Dngineer. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will be researching, developing and implementing solutions which combine superconducting magnet technology with advanced manufacturing methods to enable the design of new generation superconducting magnets for Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Siemens Magnet Technology (SMT) is the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of superconducting magnetic resonance imaging magnets for medical applications. More than 30 percent of the MRI scanners installed in hospitals worldwide have at their heart a Siemens superconducting magnet.
What are my responsibilities?
· Identify technology and advanced manufacturing techniques for the production of superconducting magnets
· Develop solutions through technology readiness stages to production implementation
· Prepare and present business justifications for development and capital equipment projects
· Liaise with academic and commercial institutions to develop and implement solutions
· Monitor and report technical and financial progress on development projects.
· Provide clear reporting of results, both written and presented.
· Support other areas of the business – manufacturing, service, management on technical issues related to your specialist area.
· Contribute to product development through your technical expertise.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
Essential requirements are;
· Postgraduate experience in an engineering or physical science, with evidence of delivering practical results
· Knowledge of areas related to cryogenics, superconductivity or electromagnetics.
· Be self-motivated and able to generate novel solutions to new challenges.
· Awareness, or knowledge of, advanced manufacturing processes would be an advantage
Siemens MR Magnet Technology (SMT) is a leading manufacturer with a proven capability to incorporate the quality aspects of volume production into innovative magnet designs for MRI (Magnet Resonance Imaging).
