Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinatedtransportation of people and goods by rail – including rolling stock, railautomation, rail electrification, and service. We craft and manufacture acrossthe entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passengertrains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, andhigh-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to providetraction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signalingand control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.
The DetailingTechnician will be responsible for finishing, detailing, and finalizingnext-generation Light Rail Vehicles that are delivered to the local TransitAuthority (TA) in San Francisco. With their attention to detail catered to theneeds of the Transit Authority.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical, and electrical modifications on Light Rail Vehicles as outlined in drawings, and work instructions.
- Complete inspection checklists to meet quality standards.
- Coordinate inspection and buybacks with Transit Authority inspectors.
- Document regularly the completion of inspection findings, modifications, and repairs.
- Proactively driving process and quality improvements eliminating repeat findings.
- Provide regular feedback to the team, lead, and manager on repeat findings.
- Read, interpret, and understand the written direction of mechanical/electronic information, maintain records of this information, and compile reports.
- Work with shop machines, industrial equipment, and hand tools.
- Communicate with others both verbally and in writing, technical information, job procedure recommendations, and other work-related information.
- Understand and follow company and industry safety rules, practices, and procedures.
- Assist with other activities as needed.
RequiredKnowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- High school diploma (or GED).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in detailing, pre-sales, or relevant field.
- Must be able to read, write and speak business-level English.
- Must be proficient in software tools such as MS Word and Excel.
- Must be proficient with all basic hand tools, paint, and finishing techniques (electromechanical).
- Must be flexible to work overtime, weekends, and/or different shifts as necessary based on project needs (with prior notice).
- Able to communicate professionally directly with the Transit Authority and their representatives.
- Individuals must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing.
- Individuals must be at least 21 years of age to be considered.
