- Main tasks to be performed as Railway Communication System Manager:
- Management of a large portfolio of railway communications projects, being able to produce effective program planning and resource allocation.
- Tracking of project progress to assure fulfillment of milestones during the project life-cycle.
- Provision of continuous mentoring and coaching to an heterogeneous group of Railway Communication Engineers working in different projects and disciplines.
- Technical development and revision of systems’ technical specifications and interface with third party systems’ descriptions (Railway Signalling, Communication Networks, SCADA, etc.).
- Management and traceability of requirements along the systems’ life-cycle.
- Attending regular meetings for interfacing with third parties (external departments, partner companies, customers, etc.).
Your Qualifications And Skills – Digital And Solid
- It is a profile of a horizontal nature, where demonstrable technical skills and expertise in several of the following technologies and areas of knowledge will be required:
- Roll-out of Fixed Communication Network Systems based on technologies such as Gigabit Ethernet, SDH, MPLS, etc.
- Roll-out of Radiocommunication Systems based on technologies such as IEEE 802.11, GSM-R, TETRA, etc.
- ‘Safety’-like system application level in railway environments: Signalling.
- Project planning, resource allocation and project progress tracking using industry standard tools like MS Project, Oracle Primavera, etc.
- It is important that the candidate can offer:
- Travelling abroad for more or less extensive stays depending on the needs of the particular project.
- Good communication and integration skills. The systems object of the activity in this position are developed in the context of large railway infrastructures in international and heterogeneous environments, both from human and technical perspectives.
