Cryogenics Engineer

At Siemens Magnet Technologyin Eynsham, Oxfordshire we specialise in the design and manufacture ofsuperconducting magnets for MRI scanners. We have an exciting opportunity tojoin our PLM team as CryogenicsEngineer. Purpose:
Thepurpose of this role is to develop exceptional and reliable new superconductingmagnets, including feasibility study, concept generation, technical design, andrealisation focusing on cryogenics management. Tosucceed, you should have engineering experience and the ability to apply acreative approach to engineering technologies together with the ability to analyseengineering problems from technical and commercial viewpoints and to identifysolutions.

● Inspire innovation & technicalstrategy
● Conceptual development of cryogenicsystems
● Building/maintaining cryogenic systems
● Troubleshooting cryogenic systems,identification, & resolution of problems
● Use of finite element techniques forstatic & dynamic thermal modelling
Key requirements:
● Knowledge of thermodynamic principles atcryogenic temperatures
● Understanding of cryogenic materialproperties
● Analytical/practical design oflow-temperature systems
● Understanding of refrigeration systems
● Understanding & design of vacuumsystems
